Straight pipes under internal pressure. Effect of bore eccentricity on maximum stress.
Abstract:
Curves are given that enable the maximum circumferential elastic stress in a pressurised pipe with an eccentric bore to be determined. The curves are applicable to long straight unrestrained pipes for which the difference between the nominal and minimum pipe wall thicknesses expressed as a proportion of the pipe bore is less than or equal to 0.25. The data are given for a full range of pipe bore to outside diameter ratios.Indexed under:
