ESDU 83020
Paraboloidal antennas: wind loading. Part 2: surface pressure distribution.
Abstract:
ESDU 83020 provides pressure distribution data for both surfaces of simple, isolated, paraboloidal antennas in uniform flow. For incidences of 0 and 180 degrees the data are presented as radial pressure distributions for focal length/diameter (f/d) ratios from 0.2 to infinity (a flat disc). For incidences of 60, 90 and 120 degrees, plots of constant pressure contours are provided for f/d ratios of 0.33 and 0.4. A suitable approach is suggested for interpolation for other incidences and limited interpolation or extrapolation for other f/d ratios, and a blank grid is included on which contour plots can be developed. The pressure distribution data have been integrated (the procedure is given) to give force and moment coefficient values and compatibility with coefficient data from ESDU 82031 is ensured. Corrections made to the basic experimental data are discussed.Indexed under:
