Stiffness of loaded flat strips under sinusoidally distributed bending couples at their edges (for use in local buckling calculations). (Uniaxial or biaxial loading. Isotropic or orthotropic materials.)
Abstract:
ESDU 73007 provides curves to determine the stiffnesses of long flat strips initially subjected to in-plane biaxial direct stresses. The stiffnesses define the distributed edge rotations and corresponding edge couples; they are used to calculate the local buckling stress of a panel or strut that is composed of, or can be idealised to a model composed of, flat thin-walled elements in which the bending stiffnesses along and across the elements differ.
