ESDU 19002
Fatigue of wrought and cast Ti-6Al-4V alloys in bending and under axial loading
Abstract:
ESDU 19002 presents endurance data for wrought and cast Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloys and accompanies ESDU 19001 which gives endurance data for other titanium alloys only. The results of over 2300 constant amplitude fatigue tests carried out on plain and notched specimens subjected to rotating-bending, plain-bending or axial loading are presented in the form of curves of alternating stress versus endurance. In this Data Item, the fatigue tests were carried out at room temperature and at elevated temperature in the high-cycle fatigue regime, that is at endurances of greater than 10 000 cycles until failure occurred. The data are grouped according manufacturing process and other variables such as notch size and shape, heat treatment and surface condition. Additionally, the data plotted in the figures presented in this Item are available in the accompanying Excel file, E1902v10.xlsx.Indexed under:
