Power spectral density and bandwidth correction of spectrum level
Abstract:
The concept of spectrum level is introduced and the conversion of the band level to spectrum level is considered in order to compare the measurement results obtained with different filters. A bandwidth correction provides a relationship between the spectrum and band levels. The relationship is only applicable for a continuous and uniform sound spectrum. For a sound, particularly random sound, which satisfies the criteria, the power spectral density, as a function of frequency, can be determined via the spectrum levels.Indexed under:
