Abstract:
ESDU 16001 is the first of a series of four Data Items describing the thermal anemometry, laser-Doppler anemometry and particle-image velocimetry flow measurement techniques. For each technique a brief description is given of the physical principles of operation, the physical requirements, the quantities measured and the associated benefits and disadvantages. Flow charts are provided to aid the selection of the appropriate measurement technique for a given application.Indexed under:
