The prediction of shock noise from supersonic jets including the near-field
Abstract:
ESDU 13001 provides a means of estimating shock noise levels in one-third octave bands emanating from a supersonic jet. The prediction program accompanying this Item covers both near and far fields and is applicable to a static nozzle.
The main input parameters that need to be specified are the jet velocity, static temperature ratio and the diameter of the jet nozzle.
ESDUpac A1301 can be run to carry out the estimation. ESDUpac B1301 can be used to facilitate the generation of input files. MATLAB users can use VIEWpac M1301 to run the program, entering input data through a graphical user interface. VIEWpac M1301 also generates a graphical output.
