ESDU AERO 00.01.07
Approximate transport properties of high-temperature air in dissociation equilibrium.
Abstract:
ESDU AERO 00.01.07 gives graphs of dynamic viscosity, thermal conductivity, Prandtl number and the product of density and dynamic viscosity, as functions of pressure and specific enthalpy, for air assumed to be a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen in the ratio 4:1. They are partly based on the curves of ESDU AERO 00.01.06 but other derivations were needed to extend the range of specific enthalpy. From a consideration of the data and other calculations it is concluded that the results provided are a useful engineering approximation to the transport properties of high temperature air. For convenience in some boundary layer calculations, four equations have been fitted to the data, two for density ratio as a function of specific enthalpy and of pressure ratio, and two for the ratio of the product of density and dynamic viscosity as a function also of specific enthalpy and of pressure ratio.Indexed under:
